About Paintings by Paula
I am one of those individuals who, after retiring, picked up some paints and brushes and began a new endeavor to paint what I love most, animals and children.  I've recently expanded that painting experience to birds , majestic landscapes, classic cars, and book illustrations.  Since 2005, I have painted well over 300 portraits, landscapes and whimsical art pieces, also winning a number of awards in various juried art shows.

I absolutely love to paint and look forward to going to my studio loft every day to work on my projects.  My medium of choice is acrylics  and I am always finding new ways to use this medium and love the vibrant colors it gives me.  My canvas of choice is board but also enjoy stretched canvas and canvas paper as other alternatives.
My husband and I relocated from the hustle and bustle of Southern California to retire in the small and serene mountain community of Shingletown, in Northern Califoriia.  My studio loft gives me an unobstructed view of Mt. Shasta and the ever changing landscape before me.  What a great place to get lost in painting!

I spend a good time of my summer and early fall presenting at local craft and art shows.  I've met SO MANY WONDERFUL PEOPLE!!!
I usually paint  on  8 X 10, or 11X14 as I believe they present very nicely, without being overwhelming in size, especially  when matted and framed in larger frames to fit one's needs. However, if something larger is requested, I am happy to  comply to any request!
